The grapes for this Zinfandel were sourced from dry-farmed, head-pruned vineyards in the Lodi AVA, where zinfandel thrives in the sandy soils. Warm days are tempered by cooling evening breezes from the San Joaquin delta. Old vines were chosen as the source for this wine because they provide intensity of flavor and great character. After crushing, the wine was aged in 1-2 year old French oak barrels for 24 months.
